Battle Crew — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Battle Crew is a real-time strategy game published by Nathan Joppich. Most gameplay and campaign progress remains on your device. If you explicitly choose an online feature such as Multiplayer 1v1 or Regiments, the game connects to the Battle Crew online service and processes the limited information described below. The game also sends anonymous gameplay statistics, which you can switch off (see below). The game does not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

Information we collect

When you choose an online feature, we may process:

We use this information only to provide online play, reconnect players, maintain player and regiment records, prevent abuse, and moderate player-created content. We do not sell it, use it for behavioural advertising, or share it with other players except where the feature requires it (for example, showing a callsign in lobby chat or on the ranked leaderboard, or showing a Regiment message to members of that Regiment).

Anonymous gameplay statistics

To see where players get stuck or stop playing, and whether they come back, the game sends a small number of anonymous gameplay events to the Battle Crew service. They are:

There is no free text, no location, no contacts and nothing you type in any of it. We use it only to improve the game, in aggregate, and do not share it.

You can turn this off in the game's settings: STATS → OFF. The game then stops sending and discards anything not yet sent. Anything already received is kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress so you can continue a campaign later. This is written to your device's local browser storage inside the app and never leaves your device. It contains only game state, such as:

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from Android's app settings, deletes this local data. Clearing storage also removes the online authentication token from that device, but it does not by itself delete information already sent through an online feature.

Network access

All core game content — artwork, 3D models and code — is bundled inside the app. Offline campaign and battle modes do not require our server. Multiplayer 1v1, Regiments and the anonymous gameplay statistics connect to the Battle Crew service hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes network and service data on our behalf under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Player-created content and moderation

Lobby and Regiment text is screened for prohibited content. Players may report or block other players, and authorized moderators may review reports, remove messages or suspend access to social features. Automated screening assists this process but does not replace player reports or human decisions.

Retention and deletion

Local campaign data remains until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Unreported lobby chat is kept only briefly for the live lobby experience; reported copies may be retained with moderation records. Online profile, regiment, match and moderation records are retained for as long as needed to operate and secure the beta. Anonymous gameplay statistics are deleted after 90 days.

You can delete your online data yourself, from inside the game. Open Regiments and choose Delete my war room data. This erases your online profile, your lifetime record, every dispatch you have sent, your weekly contributions, and your blocks — immediately and permanently. If you are the last member of a regiment it is disbanded with you. Reports you filed about other players' messages are kept as moderation evidence, with your player ID and your written reason removed from them. A player who is currently suspended cannot use this, so that deletion cannot be used to shed a suspension; appeal instead, using the address below.

You can also request access, correction or deletion by email at nathanjoppich@gmail.com, from the address you want us to use for the request. Include your Battle Crew player ID if available so we can locate the pseudonymous record.

Google Play Games Services

Battle Crew uses Google Play Games Services for achievements and leaderboards. Signing in is optional and the game is fully playable without it — every mode, mission and feature is available whether you sign in or not.

Note for the current beta. Play Games sign-in is not yet enabled. Online Private 1v1 and Regiments use the randomly generated Battle Crew player ID described above, not a Google account identity.

If you do sign in, Google provides the game with your Play Games player ID. The game uses it only to record achievements you unlock and scores you set, so they appear on your Play Games profile. We do not receive your name, email address or Google account details, we do not combine this with anything else, and we do not share it with anyone.

Play Games Services is operated by Google, and your use of it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can review or delete your Play Games data, and disconnect the game, from the Play Games app under Settings, or at your Google Account.

Children

Battle Crew is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Online chat should not be used to share names, addresses, contact details or other personal information. Google Play Games Services applies its own age restrictions to sign-in.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information. Use the contact below for Battle Crew online data. If you signed in to Play Games Services, that data is also governed by your Google Account controls.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the game changes what it collects, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
